Being a Farmer at the DMFM

All agriculture products sold at the market must be grown, raised, or gathered by the farmer, their employee/s, or family member/s, and be in compliance with Michigan Department of Agriculture regulations. We do welcome Cannabis Products as well. Please refer to our Market Policies for more information.

Food Assistance

Our Market Participates in any Food Assistance Programs we qualify for. While we do lose money on these programs we are happy to support our Farmers and Community.

Booth Fees

All Farmers receive a discount on booth fees. Farmers pay $25 per booth space per day.

Additional Market Days

We work with Farmers looking for a place to sell products or distribute CSAs outside regular Market Hours. This will cover you under the market's licenses, so you do not need to obtain one yourself.

Tent Storage

Farmers can store their tent in the market closet for the market season for $10 per season

Additional Programming

We work to create additional opportunities for Farmers with programming at our market.

  • Food Assistance - As stated above we work with multiple Food Assistance Programs that bring additional shoppers and money directly to Farmers.

  • POP - Working with Partridge Creek Farm we host Power Of Produce during the summer which gets kids involved in educational activities and rewarded with $5 POP tokens that can be used on produce

  • MERSA - Host regular food demos using in-season produce and how recipes that encourage shoppers to by ingredients at the market to make at home.

  • Food CO-OP - Host 3 tastings each year. Garlic Scapes, Tomatoes, and Squash. The CO-OP buys a variety of each and prepares them for customers to try and creates guides of which vendors have which variety.
